KINOKO - beauty of imperfection

The simplicity, streamline and organic shapes of nature, combined with the Japanese preservation and burning technique Shou Sugi Ban. A simple frame, repetitively put together, to reflect the lamellas of a mushroom. Transformed together into the seating object KINOKO. A place where complete peace and tranquility reign. In which you can retreat to be one with nature, to contemplate its beautiful creations.

KINOKO

(Japanese for mushroom)

 The perfect of the imperfect

Imagine being able to fully immerse yourself in what nature has to offer.

Its simplicity, streamlining and beautiful organic shapes, incorporated into a seating object.

A chair, completely constructed from the elements and techniques that come directly from nature. A simple frame, repeated one after the other, to reflect the slats of the mushrooms. A space of breath and air is created between each wall. The warmth of fire causes the wood to lose its perfect straight and flat lines, giving way to relief and imperfection.

The use of this Japanese burning technique (Shou Sugi Ban) means that the entire seating object can call itself sustainable. A matt lacquer coat covers the burnt relief, acting as an additional shield against weathering.
