The artistry of every bite
Beyond the plate lies a culinary world,
captured through thoughtful imagery
Like refined words from poetry,
the organic and graphic lines of fresh products
and beautifully crafted dishes unite.
Captured in a moment where light,
colour, and composition
come together to tell a new story.
WHO IS
JOY SCHULTE ?
Through beautiful layering, complexity
and depths, different structures take you to
a new dimension of the purity of food.
With a touch of artistry, abstraction and mystery,
I bring food and dishes to life.
Photography is like the elements that converge to form an artistic and creative image, a fleeting fragment of a scene, frozen yet alive, as if time itself paused for a moment.
I am a 25-year-old photographer, endlessly curious, always chasing more depth, more artistry, and new discoveries.
Born and raised in Zwolle, the Netherlands, I laid the foundation of my career here, starting as a novice with a passion for capturing the world through my lens. To understand what lies behind the dishes I photograph, I spent two years immersing myself in gastronomic kitchens, exploring the craft at restaurants such as Noïs and Brass Boer Thuis.
A wonderful beginning to my culinary journey.
My learning continued through inspiring internships with masters of the craft:
-
17th-century photographer Ursula van de Bunte,
-
Culinary photographer Remko Kraaijeveld,
-
And a final internship in art education at the international culinary videography company Chuck Studio in Amsterdam.
With the pure, refined, and beautiful shapes of nature, I invite you to experience my creative interpretations of culinary artistry. Every dish, every ingredient is photographed uniquely — not only in its form and colour, but also in its surroundings.
I carefully craft backgrounds with structure, tonal gradation, and depth, allowing each image to stand out, tell its story, and linger in the mind.
